A man was declared dead by paramedics near a stream at Kanana informal settlement on the morning of 11 December.
Rabie Ridge police are investigating the murder after the man, who is yet to be identified, was discovered by passersby along the path they were walking on near the stream. According to Rabie Ridge Police Station spokesperson Captain Matsobane Masela, the man was still alive when he was found. However, when paramedics arrived, he was declared dead at the scene.
“The man sustained stab wounds in the chest. Some community members alleged that they heard someone crying for help in the early hours of the morning,” he said.
