Numerous arrests by Ekurhuleni North Cluster during festive season

MIDRAND – Hard work from police leads to numerous arrests from 25 December 2017 to 1 January 2018.

Ekurhuleni North Cluster made 181 arrests from 25 December last year to 1 January this year.

The suspects were arrested for various crimes which include:
q 5 for murder
q 10 for assault
q 16 for possession of suspected stolen property
q 45 drunken driving
q 4 for rape
q 20 for public drinking
q 8 for perjury and fraud
q 8 for robbery
q 14 for theft
q 4 for malicious damage to property
q 12 for drug possession
q 1 for drug dealing
q 10 for business robberies
q 3 for housebreaking
q 1 for intimidation
q 3 for corruption
q 1 for pointing a firearm
q 6 for dagga possession
q 6 for unlawful handling of firearm
q 9 for shoplifting
q 1 for driving without a licence
q 1 for attempted business robbery
q 1 for reckless and negligent driving.
The spokesperson for Rabie Ridge Police Station, Caption Matsobane Masela said he was pleased that people are being held accountable for their unlawful actions which will eventually influence the fight against crime as well as decrease the accident rates.
