#ICYMI: Shooting leaves one dead and child injured

IVORY PARK – shooting leaves a man dead and three-year-old child injured.

A man, believed to be in his 40s, was killed and a three-year-old injured this morning, 12 April, following a shooting outside a residence on Moagi Street in Ivory Park.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 6:40 am, finding local authorities and Provincial Services already on scene.

“Upon closer inspection, paramedics found a vehicle parked on the road outside a residence. The body of a man, believed to be in his 40s, was found lying in the driver’s seat of the vehicle,” ER24 said.

ER24 said its paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. Unfortunately, nothing could be done and he was declared dead by Provincial Services.

“A short time later, ER24 paramedics were lead into the house where a second patient was found. Assessments showed that a three-year-old boy had sustained a gunshot wound to his leg,” added ER24.

Paramedics treated the boy and provided him with pain-relief medication before he was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The exact details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
