CARLSWALD – The Tshwane executive mayor Solly Msimanga was hijacked in Carlswald in the early hours of this morning.

Ward 132 councillor Annette Deppe said, “The vehicle was last tracked this morning on the N4 towards the Pretoria direction. The mayor is currently opening a case in Tshwane.” She added that the tracking device seems to have been disarmed.

According to reports by News24, Msimanga was walking to his car after dining out with friends in Carlswald when he was approached by two men with guns who demanded his keys. The men left with his car. Msimanga reported that none of his bodyguards were with him at the time.
