Midrand police arrested three suspects for the possession of a stolen vehicle at the Kyalami Downs Shopping Centre.
Police identified a suspected stolen vehicle (VW Polo) along the R55 on 4 July and gave chase as the suspects made a run for it but were eventually caught.
“The vehicle was reported stolen at Wierdabrug and a case was opened. When a vehicle is reported stolen the police link the case on the police national system allowing all stations to be aware of the case and be on the lookout,” said Tlamela.
The police said they are pleased with the arrest and the role played by the tracker company, which was able to pick up the signal of the vehicle and alert the police immediately.
“This should serve as a message to all criminals that the police are on high alert and will catch anyone engaging in illegal activities,” concluded Tlamela.
