Three collisions in one day on N1 near Allandale Road
MIDRAND – All the accidents took place opposite one another.
In the time frame of just 24 hours, six people were injured in three separate collisions on the N1 highway near Allandale Road in Midrand on 23 December.
This is according to Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst.
In the first incident, one person suffered soft tissue injuries after two vehicles collided on the N1 South.

In the another incident, between a light motor vehicle and a light delivery vehicle, two people suffered moderate injures on the N1 North.

Herbst said all those involved in the collisions were in stable conditions.
“Three people were injured in another collision on the N1 North before Allandale Road. All patients suffered soft tissue injuries with lacerations and abrasions. They were treated on the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital [for further treatment],” he said.

Herbst explained that all of the accidents happened opposite one another and ‘occurred when people were, probably, having a look to see what was happening at [the first] accident, which caused another accident’.
He urged motorist to be extra cautious during the festive season.
“Now that there are a lot more people on the roads, motorists must slow down, keep a safe following distance be aware of their surroundings.”
