Ward 112 councillor reflects on the highs and lows of 2018

MIDRAND- Ward 112 councillor wishes the community a peace-filled festive season

As the year draws to an end Ward 112 councillor Madeleine Hicklin reflects on the highs and lows of this year.

“Many people look at life as being filled with challenges rather than opportunities. That’s the difference between being an optimist and a pessimist. But I am a realist, so I am going to say that 2018 has been a year filled with both challenges and opportunities.

“One thing is for sure, it has certainly been exciting.”

Although 2018 proved to be a challenging time, the ward achieved many of the goals that it had set out.

“The highlight of my year and my greatest achievement since coming into office was the securing of the tarring of 9th Road and the beginning of the planning stages for the Sagewood Bridge linking Sagewood and Noordwyk Secondary School.”

Hicklin thanked the ward committe members and most importantly the community for the support and allowing her to be of service.

“May all the residents of Ward 112 experience a peace-filled festive deason and a prosperous entry into 2019.”

Hicklin concluded, “May you all be inspired to contribute positively to those around you.

“May you be blessed with good health and happiness, and may 2019 be a year in which we continue to build a brighter, more inclusive community in Midrand.”
