Ward 112 councillor: 2019 a year of promise

MIDRAND – Madeleine Hicklin said there are big changes that will have a direct impact on the lives of Midranders for years to come.

Ward 112 councillor Madeleine Hicklin shares her 2019 wishes for the community …

“Welcome to 2019. I hope you had a blessed, safe ‘load-shed free’ and rested festive break and are coming into the new year refreshed and ready to rejuvenate our stagnant economy. The year ahead holds so much promise – promise that we all have to be a part of creating.”

Although 2018 had some challenges, Hicklin said there are big changes that ‘will have a direct impact on the lives of Midranders for years to come’.

“The end of 2018 was marked by two main issues in Midrand: The strangling of water supply from Rand Water and load-shedding over December.

“The first quarter of the year [2019] will definitely see the tarring of 9th Road in Noordwyk begin in earnest.

“Residents will also see the promised By-Law Workshop taking place. The workshop will deal with by-laws relating to property and land use, businesses, environmental health by-laws and development planning. ”

Hicklin implored on the community to assist in becoming the ‘solutions to the problems we face on daily basis’.

“May 2019 be a year in which we continue to build a brighter, more inclusive community in Midrand.”
