Gruesome murder in Noordwyk under investigation
NOORDWYK – The Midrand Police are currently investigating a gruesome murder that took place in Noordwyk.
A case of murder has been opened by the Midrand police following a gruesome killing on Lever Road in Noordwyk on 19 January.
Spokesperson for the Midrand Police Station Sergeant Matome Tlamela said, “A police patrol vehicle was driving on Lever Road when they noticed an unknown male running on the road and at the risk of being hit by a moving vehicle.”
She added that as they tried to shout at him to be careful he fell in front of, and was hit by, a White Toyota Etios.
Upon further investigation, the police discovered that victim had an open wound with his stomach and intestines falling out. It was determined that he stayed in a bush in Noordwyk and was running away from two suspects who had stabbed him in 13th Street.
Tlamela added, “A search was conducted for the suspects but they had already fled the area.”
Paramedics were called to the scene where the victim was pronounced dead.
The police are currently investigating and following up with a number of positive witnesses who saw the whole incident.
No arrests have been made.
