WATCH: Washing powder is looted from overturned truck on N1 in Midrand
MIDRAND – Traffic was severely affected by the incident.
A frenzy over washing power broke out on the N1 highway near the Olifantsfontein Road offramp yesterday afternoon, 16 February, after a truck carrying the load overturned.
In photos and video footage of the incident, looters are seen running onto the highway and even breaking down the sides of the truck to make off with boxes of washing powder.
The City of Joburg Emergency Management Services spokesperson, Robert Mulaudzi was among those who tweeted about the incident:

At this stage, it is unclear as to whether any arrests have been made, however, the Midrand Reporter is following up on the incident.
