Joburg Mayor Herman Mashaba opens newly-constructed road in Ivory Park
IVORY PARK – Executive Mayor of Johannesburg encourages community members to look after their infrastructure.
The City of Johannesburg Mayor, Herman Mashaba alongside MMC for Transport, Nonhlanhla Makhuba opened the newly-constructed Haile Selassie and Masibambisane streets in Ivory Park.
The mayor urged the residents of Ivory Park to care of new road infrastructure in Ivory Park, report vandalism and any criminal elements.
“This road was originally built some years ago with no stormwater drainage,” said Mashaba.
“I’m sure you’re all aware of the challenges we’ve inherited, we need R11.8 billion to get our roads to the level we would like to, we don’t have that budget, and unfortunately some communities have never seen tar roads in their lives.”
