Memorandum to benefit SA and Tanzanian ICT SMMEs
MIDRAND – Midrand ICT Company signs a memorandum of understanding with Tanzania ICT business incubator to create new and global ICT companies.
Softstart Business and Technology Incubator (Softstart BTI), a government-supported non-profit company based in Midrand has signed a memorandum of understanding with another ICT business incubator based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
With Softstart BTI identified as a company which aims at stimulating, developing and launching early-stage technology innovation-based businesses, this was in line with the company’s vision to create innovative and worldwide competitive ICT companies. The memorandum signed between Softstart BTI and Sahara Ventures will afford South African ICT companies an opportunity to enlarge their footprint and access to markets throughout Africa.
Softstart BTI reported that the principles of this memorandum are based amongst others on the following:
• Soft-landing – hosting of
entrepreneurs in the
respective incubators
• Knowledge exchange – such
as benchmarking,
exchanging models and
skills transfer
• Collaboration on joint
projects – such as events,
innovation and resource
mobilisation.
Basically, this means that South African entrepreneurs who are eager to pursue market opportunities in Tanzania can easily soft-land at the Sahara Venture’s hub, where they will have access to working space and tap into local opportunities with the help of Sahara Venture and vice-versa.
The associates will also implement numerous initiatives in their respective countries, aligned to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the development of entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem. Prospective partners are welcome to engage for more information.
