MIDRAND – Women in Bhakti celebrated women in style bringing together women from all walks of life to inspire and empower.

 


Women took up the opportunity of ‘Stepping Into Your Power’ in celebration of Women’s Day.

This as the Women in Bhakti Forum hosted their second annual Women’s Day function on 3 August at the beautiful and tranquil gardens of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon) Midrand centre.

The event, which was themed ‘Stepping Into Your Power’, aimed to unite, inspire and empower women to place spirituality and devotion (Bhakti) to God, at the centre of their lives.

The event was charged with words of wisdom shared by the keynote motivational speakers from Iskcon, who are senior spiritual leaders of the Hare Krishna movement, but also everyday mothers, professionals, entrepreneurs and literates.

Guests were also treated to delicious vegetarian food and entertained with a vintage fashion show, hosted by the International Inspiring Women Network Foundation, live spiritual music rendered by the Krishna Balaram Youth Group, traditional Indian dance performances and performances by learners from Midrand High School.

Women in Bhakti also highlighted the important work being done by People Opposing Women Abuse (Powa), with each guest also supporting this great cause by bringing through a handbag containing female sanitary items to donate to Powa.
