City encourages citizens to get tested
JOHANNESBURG – The City of Johannesburg urges residents to get tested for the coronavirus at their testing sites.
The City of Johannesburg encourages residents to go visit the newly established coronavirus test sites.
Media liason specialist for the City’s health department Maletsatsi Ngwedzeni said that most of the sites are equipped with testing kits with others are still waiting to receive the kits as they have been deployed by the national government.
She added that people with or without symptoms should visit the site and get tested. “The testing sites are for everyone. Its very important for us as the City of Johannesburg that we have these sites that will assist citizens with coronavirus.

“Its important to get tested. Beacause you don’t only put yourself at risk but the people around you. It’s important to know for the sake of your family and your kids. In order for Johannesburg to work, we need to look after each other.”
The testing sites are following the necessary precautions to keep citizens safe such as social-distancing measures and readily available santisers.
The MMC for Health and Social Development Eunice Mgcina will be visiting the sites to see if all is in order and the sites are running efficiently.
