Noordwyk boys triumph in a friendly game

MIDRAND – Isa Kabito who is the captain for Nizamiye said that he was not satisfied by the match's outcome.


Nizamiye Primary and High School U19 soccer team lost 0–1 to Noordwyk Secondary School in a home friendly match on September 29.

The two teams battled it out for 60 minutes with Noordwyk dominating most of the first half. And this paid off as Noordwyk took the lead. However, their advantage was nearly short-lived when Nizamiye was awarded a penalty in the dying minutes of the first half, but Noordwyk’s penalty taker failed to convert.

In the second half, Noordwyk kept the host team under pressure Only in the last 15 minutes of the game did Nizamiye started to pick up the pace.

The Noordwyk boys defended well and kept the hosts at bay until the final whistle to win 1–0.

Isa Kabito, captain for Nizamiye, said he was not satisfied with the loss but he, nevertheless, enjoyed the game.

Karabo Morulane, captain for Noordwyk, said he was not quite happy with his team’s performance. “Nizamiye got inside our heads during the match but at least we won,” he concluded.
