Nova Pioneer netballer seeks help backing her England dream
Two young friends in netball will get to live their dream while touring another part of the world, they just need help to do so, and are counting on the community to help turn that dream into reality.
Grade 9 learner at Nova Pioneer Mpho Netshisaulu has paved her way well in netball, getting selected for a school netball tournament to go play in England.
Mpho’s netball journey began in 2021, when she joined the sport as an extracurricular activity at school. What started as a fun activity quickly grew into a passion, leading her to join Midrand Royals Netball Club, where she continues to train and compete.

Since then, she has worked tirelessly to improve herself, balancing schoolwork with regular training sessions and competitive matches from both her school and home clubs.
Now, her hard work has led to her being selected, together with her Midrand Royals Netball Club teammate and best friend Naledi Setaka, for the tour to England.
Mpho’s mother, Charmaine Netshisaulu, said seeing her daughter earn international selection is a proud moment for the family.
“What makes this opportunity even more special is Mpho’s determination. She wakes up early for training and attends every session without anyone having to remind her. Her dedication to netball is inspiring.”
The opportunity is especially meaningful because Mpho previously missed out on an international tour to Dubai due to financial constraints.

Now, with another chance to represent her school overseas, her family is appealing to local businesses, residents, and sponsors to help cover the cost of the trip.
Although Naledi’s parents will pay for her trip, Mpho’s parents won’t be able to fully fund the trip, and they’re seeking assistance from the community to make the young netballer’s dream possible.
For Mpho, travelling to England alongside her best friend will make the experience even more memorable.
“I’d be very happy, because, firstly, I’ll be travelling with my friend and we’ll be able to share this experience together. Secondly, we’ll be going overseas to do something we love and are passionate about.”
