Christ Church Preparatory School’s Grade 1s were welcomed with open arms and excitement on January 11 and 12.
The learners attended their first-ever pre-school and Grade 1 welcome party to see their new classrooms and meet their new teachers.

The school’s marketing manager Dawn Schmitz said the event ensured that the learners were confident for their first day of school. “While the pupils drew pictures, listened to stories, and played on the equipment, parents were able to ask any questions before school starting tomorrow, on January 12.
“Welcome parties are just one way that we, as a school, ensure that every child within our care is happy and confident prior to the start of the year.”

Schmitz said there was great excitement, and a bit of trepidation as the Grade 1s started ‘big school’ on January 12.
She added that very proud moms and dads escorted their children to their new classes to be left in the care of their Grade 1 teachers.

“Pupils unpacked their stationery. This was followed by a tour of the school and a much-needed lunch break. We wish all our new Grade 1 families all the best for 2022.”
Principal David Bell gave a special welcome message to all their Grade 1 learners of this year, “You are looking amazingly smart in your new uniforms, and we are very proud of you and pleased to have each one of you in ‘big school’ this year.”

He concluded, “We are looking forward to seeing you grow academically and on the sports fields and achieving your full potential in the years to come.”
