DreamHill aims to give your child the best opportunities
DreamHill International School offers a wide range of activities. This includes free extracurricular activities such as STEM, chess, drama and public speaking, editors club and photography and yoga extra. Don’t miss the open day on 28 May to find out more!

DreamHill International School (DHIS) is an independent private school in the heart of Midrand, just behind the Boulders Shopping Mall.
We are registered with the Department of Education and follow the Cambridge curriculum in combination with CAPS, to ensure that our students are on par with top international schools worldwide.
We offer a wide range of activities and our philosophy at school is child-centred and aimed at improving and giving them the best opportunities to discover and express what makes them unique.
We also offer some extracurricular activities at DreamHill to help our learners learn new skills, boost academic performance, broaden their social skills and improve their time management skills.

Some of the free extracurricular activities offered in DreamHill’s curriculum are:
- STEM:
STEM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, and math. STEM fosters ingenuity and creativity, builds resilience and encourages experimentation, teamwork, knowledge application and adaptation. It also gives learners a chance to use technology they never would have come in contact with.
- Chess:
Chess is seen as one of the most important extracurricular activities at DHIS as it develops the student’s logic, critical thinking and creativity. It increases concentration and memory as well as develops problem-solving skills, improves reading skills, teaches planning and foresight, engages them off-screen and helps the children connect with others.
- Drama and public speaking:
Drama is a valuable tool in building life skills such as self-esteem, imagination, creativity and communication.
- Editors club and photography:
This year, we also put an editors club together for students from Gr 3–7 and they have produced DHIS’s first newspaper. The first edition is to be released on our open day, 28 May 2022. All the articles and photos were written and taken by the students under the guidance of Ms Ramesar.
- Yoga
Yoga and mindfulness have been shown to improve both physical and mental health in school-age children (ages 6 to 12). Yoga improves balance, strength, endurance and aerobic capacity in children.

Extracurricular activities not included in the school fees:
- Robotics
- Pottery
- Music
- Art
- Kung fu
- Swimming lessons in an enclosed and heated pool.
At DreamHill, we want our learners to not only develop and be exceptional mentally and cognitively but also develop on a physical level through sports. Playing sport helps children learn to control their emotions and channel negative feelings in a positive way. It also helps children develop patience and understand that it can take a lot of practice to improve both their physical skills and what they do in school.
Sports offered at the moment are:
- Cricket
- Soccer
- Netball
- Softball
- Athletics
- Swimming
We are a small school with a big impact. We have a curriculum that is:
- Diverse
- Child-centred with small classes
- World-class
- Unique
All our teachers are SACE registered and qualified.
Scholarships:
We also have a few scholarships open for our upper primary grades (4 to 7) for the year 2023. Make an appointment with the school today for further details.

If you can’t visit the school on Saturday 28 May 2022, please feel free to drop by our stall in Boulders Shopping Centre from Tuesday, 24 May 2022 to Monday, 30 May 2022 from 09:00 to 18:00.
