Residents are encouraged to use e-hailing vehicles while drunk

The team has started to include the portion of the N1 freeway as part of the operations.

Another impactful high visibility joint operation between Midrand police, Sector Crime Forum patrollers and Midrand security companies was conducted on May 19 from 19:00 to 22:30.

The security companies that participated were ADT Security, ARN Security, Hawkeye Security, and the newest member of the operation team TRSS Security.

During the operation, the team swept throughout the suburbs of Sector 2 with multiple suspicious persons and vehicles searched.

“We have found many vehicle drivers who are under the influence of marijuana or are drinking and driving. This creates dangerous conditions for all road users,” said Sector 2 Crime Forum in a statement.

The joint operation team encouraged residents to be mindful and consider using an e-hailing service when under the influence.

TRSS Security said a suspect was arrested during the operation and taken into police custody.

Also, the team had started to include a section of the N1 freeway in its operations, with the specific goal of identifying bogus police.

“Please remember to use our alert groups to report suspicious activities with as much information as possible. This will greatly assist in quick responses from the teams,” concluded the statement.
