Local learners build confidence through public speaking

Curro Midrand Independent School commits to teach public speaking skills to its learners at its annual event.

One of the best platforms on which learners build confidence, find their voice, and push themselves just beyond their comfort zone is through public speaking.

Curro Midrand Independent School commits to teaching these skills to its learners through its annual public speaking event hosted on June 1.

According to the school, public speaking is not a talent all are naturally gifted at. “It is quite a nerve-wracking and daunting task for many of us. However, we do indeed have a few naturally talented speakers who certainly impressed us with their eloquent and inspiring speeches,” the school said.

During the event, the speakers were all awarded certificates and medals for their efforts. The best speaker in each grade walked away with a gold certificate, medal and trophy.

The adjudicators of the day were extremely impressed with the speakers’ presentation skills and content. Gold certificates were awarded to Kuyuran Marimuthu (Grade 1), Ayabonga Mbanjwa (Grade 2), Yajna Maharaj (Grade 3), Saranya Marimuthu (Grade 4), Elin Moodley (Grade 5), Dhiara Naidoo (Grade 6), and Mihle Fredricks (Grade 7).
