Learners from Cedarwood Preparatory School celebrated Father’s Day on June 9 with a soccer festival and boerewors braai.
They brought their father, uncle, mother, grandfather, or any special guardian in their lives to enjoy the day with them.
About 12 colour-coded soccer teams of children and their special guardians filled the field, with self-named teams such as Liverpool, PSG, New Castle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, among others.
School marketing manager Lisa Ellis said the day was filled with echoes of cheering, goals, creative dribbling, bonding as a family and as a team, tons of fun, and enjoying a scrumptious boerewors roll and cooldrink.
“The day ended with each family receiving a special medal wishing them happy Father’s Day.”
Cedarwood is a school community made up of staff, learners, and families who work toward the same goals to see each child succeed. This was another event that emphasizes the school theme of being stronger together.
