Rabie Ridge Police on the hunt for five suspects who stole a delivery scooter

Five suspects who assaulted a delivery man and hijack his scooter in Austin View are sought by the Rabie Ridge Police.

Rabie Ridge police urged Austin View residents and surrounding areas who might have information regarding the hijacking of a Big Boy scooter to come forward.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Dipolelo Moremi said according to the complainant, on June 15 at around 19:30 he was driving a white motorbike to deliver food in Austin View, Midrand.

“While at corner Game and West streets, a red City Golf bumped his motorbike from behind and five unknown African males got out of the vehicle, one of them carrying a firearm,” said Moremi.

She said the suspect assaulted the complainant with the firearm and instructed him to lie down in Zulu.

A case of assault and hijacking had been opened at the police station by the complainant.

“[It is the alleged that] one of the suspects drove the motorbike and fled the scene. The estimated value of the motorbike is around R25 000.”
