Operation Okae Molao leads to an arrest in Halfway House

The operation continues to focus on crime in Midrand areas, where there is an emphasis on illegal foreigners, illegal shebeens, and liquor outlets.

In the course of an Okae Molao operation on June 4, one suspect was arrested by Midrand police for attempted murder in Halfway House.

Police officials were on patrol and found a male who had been stabbed in the upper body.

Midrand police spokesperson Constable Eliot Mabulane said the police searched for the suspect together with the stabbed victim who was fit to be on the lookout after sustaining a minor wound.

“The victim immediately pointed out the suspect who intended to stab him in the neck and he was arrested and detained.”

Mabulane added that the motive for the stabbing has not been determined as the victim still requires medical attention. The suspect has been charged with attempted murder and will be appearing in court soon.

The operation continues to focus on crime in the Midrand areas, where there is an emphasis on illegal foreigners, illegal shebeens, and liquor outlets, especially in President Park and Glen Austin in Sector 1.

The district commissioner, Major General Max Masha, has welcomed the arrest and said it shows that the operation is effective.
