Midrand Sector 3 Crime Forum conducted an Operation Fiela patrol in Sector 3 on June 8.
Several security companies and Midrand police joined up with Sector 3 Crime Forum community patrollers for the patrol that began at 19.30 at Noordwyk Shell garage.
Member of the Community Policing Forum, patrol commander Otto Ramokoka said they targeted crime hotspot areas such as Noordwyk, Country View, Blue Hills and Crowthorne.
“In Noordwyk, we went to check on an empty property which was left unattended by the owner. Everything seems to be in order except for two missing roof tiles,” said Ramokoka.
The team then proceeded to Olifantsfontein Road and the N1 until New Road. “It [Olifantsfontein Road] was calm and quiet.
“Our big appreciation goes to the police, security companies including Ria Sebetsa, ADT Fidelity, Night Guard, and our own community patrollers.”
