Another successful joint high visibility operation was held in Midrand in Sectors 2 and 5 on July 8 with Midrand police, Community Policy Forum, patrollers, and various security companies.
The security companies included Hawkeye Security, ARN Security, TRSS Security, and ADT Security.
The joint operation took place from 19:00 to 22:00 with several stop-and-searches conducted at various crime hotspots within the area. It was a relatively quiet evening with no incidents reported during the operation in both sectors.
The police led the checks of various suspicious vehicles and persons, with an extra focus on hotspots.
The team encountered one incident of intoxicated and unruly behaviour at a local shopping centre. This was quickly dissolved and the persons left the area.
The joint operation team urges the community to report any suspicious persons, vehicles, and criminal activity that takes place in the sectors.
