Midrands’ young fashion designer Buhle Mlotshwa maintains motivation in running his business
After his business partners quit working with him due to lack of patience, he decided to push the brand alone.
The key to keeping a dream alive is to keep watering it even when others have given up.
Buhle Mlotshwa (23) is a young visionary fashion designer from Midrand who dyes and re-designs outfits to make ends meet.
His business partners quit working with him due to a lack of patience so Mlotshwa decided to push with his business.
“Our brand name is Kleanboys Club. Our goal was to get customers by working on the4 streets because people pass by there every day. However, I now work from home since I am the only person left from the brand,” said Mlotshwa.
Despite the slow progress of his business, Mlotshwa always pulls inspiration from social media and spends most of his time on the internet and Pinterest to come up with new ideas.
“It was not easy starting the business because getting money these days is hard until we [business partners] told ourselves that we need to budget to start our business until it worked out.

“Young people like me should never give up on their dreams. I know life is hard out there, especially when you do not have support. But that does not mean it’s over. Giving up is not the only choice as there is so much one can try and do. Stand up for yourself like a hustler.”
In his line of business, people bring their clothing to him and he dyes it for them, and sometimes he purchases whatever clothing the customer needs and dyes it in different colours.
“I will not say I have a price range because I usually sell items for a low price when someone has ordered something and doesn’t collect it, not because I want to but because I have no choice, it needs to go.”
His ambition is to expand and explore other kinds of fashions and designs.
“There is so much I want to do and for people to see. I wish for the most to have my own place where I will sell my own stuff, like in the malls where people will reach me.
“I have hope and faith in God and I hope one day he’ll bless me with everything I want, so meanwhile I will trust the progress.”
