Learners at Curro Midrand Halfway Gardens participated in a tree planting ceremony at their spring celebration on September 7.
The learners learned that the tree planted was a Natal mahogany which is an evergreen tree with dark, green glossy leaves and a wide-spreading crown that provides plenty of shade.

Participating learners gained a thorough understanding of the importance of planting trees for the environment.

The tree planting ceremony formed a comprehensive experience to not only give back to nature but it raised awareness of the effects of climate change.
