Midrand Sector 3 Crime Forum (SCF3) multi-disciplinary team conducted an impactful high visibility operation on September 23 between 19:00 and 00:00.
The operation team included members of Midrand police, SCF3 patrollers, ARN Security, and Hawkeye Security.
During the operation, the team received a call to provide backup in Noordwyk for a cellphone snatching incident.
A suspect was promptly caught in the nearby bushes and arrested by Midrand police.
The successful arrest definitely aids in dismantling one of the cellphone snatching groups operating in that area.
Apart from this incident, it had been a peaceful operation with the suburbs in Sector 3 having no reported incidents.
Midrand police spokesperson Constable Eliot Mabulane applauded the patrol teams for their dedication to keeping the Midrand community safe.
