Christ Church Preparatory School and College principal Dave Bell hopes the school can achieve a 100% matric pass mark this year after Grade 12 learners showed commitment and willingness to learn.
Bell said he expects the matric Class of 2022, who have worked hard to achieve a 100% pass mark and a very high Bachelor Degree entrance pass.
*Note: In a previous version of this article published on October 18, it stated that the school [Class of 2022] achieved a 93% pass rate. This is inaccurate, the school, in fact, received a 93% university pass rate for the Class of 2021. The Midrand Reporter apologises for this error.
He said the school’s matric learners have been dedicated and they have all tried extremely hard this year.
Bell shared what educational methods and plans were put in place to ensure that learners cover all modules needed, “Subject assessment guidelines are followed, and extra lessons and holiday school is given when needed.

“We expect a 100% pass rate and a very high bachelor’s degree entrance pass, with the latter most probably being a better indicator of the quality of education on offer.”
Bell said all teachers are significantly qualified, well experienced and undergo continuous professional development to keep up to date with the current trends in education.
He said the aim was to ensure that the process of teaching and learning at the school was smooth, fun and yet educational to make sure that learners understand what is required of them.
“With thorough feedback after preliminary exams, areas of concern have been dealt with, and we are confident that our Grade 12s are well prepared for their final exams.”
The matric learners held their final assembly on October 12, valediction on October 13 and will be off to study for their finals.
Bell said that as the school they would like to thank the staff, parents and all learners for their dedication over the years.
He concluded that the school would like to wish their Class of 2022 matric learners everything of the best with their final school hurdle starting on Friday, October 21.
