Newly appointed Total Football Excellence technical director to hit the ground running

Total Football Excellence's newly appointed director hopes to get players technically stronger, quicker on the ball and more purposeful in attack.

Total Football Excellence club owner Theodora Crozét announced the appointment of a technical director who will oversee the holistic development of all its players.

Crozét announced the appointment of David Ribeiro at Curro Waterfall on December 3.

Speaking after his unveiling, Rebeiro said he was excited at the challenge ahead of joining a club that has already experienced great results. “The club and Theodora are ambitious and that is why we have taken on this task together,” said Ribeiro.
“The goal of the club is to develop players technically and tactically as well as holistically on and off the field. My role will be to ensure there is a detailed, progressive coaching programme which is followed and implemented throughout the club to maximise the potential of each player.”
He brings a wealth of experience to the academy and has completed a Fifa Master ( International master in management, law and humanities of Sport). Ribeiro headed up the operations in Gauteng of Coerver Coaching and has worked for the South African Football Association’s U17 and U20 women’s teams and its women’s academy.

“After sitting with the owner and identifying how the club can reach new heights, we decided that it was important to have a full-time technical director and I would come on board to fill that role. I do believe the club and I share the same ambitions and vision. The club has a great history of both developing players and being able to do so while keeping a winning mentality.”

He said the supporters could expect the club to play a similar brand of football as in the past few years. However, their goal, together with each team’s coaches, was to get players technically stronger, quicker on the ball and more purposeful in attack.
