Total Football excellence successful trails for upcoming season

The 2023 football season for Waterfall-based Total Football Excellence is expected to commence in April.

In a bid to bolster the depth of its squads, Total Football Excellence held open trials for all its divisions ahead of the upcoming campaign.

The trials were held at Curro Waterfall on January 14 and 15 with aspiring footballers coming to try their luck.
Successful players had to attend on the weekend of January 21 and 22 for their final assessments before knowing their fate.

The academy has U13,14, 15, 17 and 19 divisions that ply their trade in different leagues.
The U19s are the reigning champions of the Rand Central Local Football Association league while the other age groups compete in the Academy League which is administered by the Soweto Local Football Association.

Academy owner Theodora Crozét said the trials were successful. “There are quite a lot of talented players out there and I am happy that they came to try their luck with us. Through these trials, we always get very talented young players out there and that’s why we, as the team, always love to conduct open trials every year before the start of our season in different age groups,” said Crozét.

She said they opted to have trials early before the 2023 season commenced. “We want our coaches to have enough time with the old players and the new players who we have selected during our open trials. This will give the coaches enough time to prepare for the league and it will be good pre-season training for all the players to gel and coaches as well to find working combinations.”

She said the league was expected to start around April and they are looking forward to a great football season.
