Community member tackles social ills with skills learned from Scientology Volunteer Ministers

While searching for solutions, Lucy-Lynn Fondling found the local organisation which provided her with free community intervention programmes to address social issues.

Certainly, the free life skills community development programme, Tools for Life, has been essential for individuals and South Africa as a whole.

The skills offered by the Kyalami-based non-profit organisation, Scientology Volunteer Ministers, have changed thousands of people’s lives by providing an exact technology with step-by-step procedures one can use to handle problems and better their lives and the lives of others.

The programme has taught a community member, Lucy-Lynn Fondling, to be calm and solution-oriented in tackling life issues, and it also equipped her with the skills to handle study difficulties, communication, conflict resolution, ethics, and many more.

While searching for solutions to tackle drugs, education, skills development, creation of sustainable livelihoods, and more, Fondling wound up being introduced to the Scientology Volunteer Ministers for the free community intervention programmes.

“I used to stay at home and do nothing. I used to fight with people and was already ready for a fight and this didn’t sit well with me. I then had the privilege of attending a workshop where I was introduced to a free life skills community development programme called Tools for Life,” said Fondling.

She said the programme instantly changed her life and she knew she had found the solutions to bring relief to pain and trauma caused by the social ills of her community. “These Tools for Life really changed my life because I am now able to create the change I want to see around me without waiting for anyone. They have taught me to be independent and restore my purpose for a better life for all.”

Fondling, who was once heavily affected by the terrible living conditions of her hometown, Mitchell’s Plain, has been educating the masses using Tools for Life. Her passion for transforming her community and the support from others was instrumental in the successful implementation of this skills programme. “I decided to take this to my community in Mitchell’s Plain and the response has been amazing. I can already see the changes and people really are starting to see that we can rehabilitate this community. Every time I wake up, I know exactly what needs to be done and I do it, I have trained others and now more people and other communities around me are starting to demand these skills.”

She concluded that her new purpose is keeping her busy but she does not mind because she can already see the transformation.
