Sadtu Midrand fun walk and aerobics at Ponelopele Oracle Secondary School
Deputy principal at Noordwyk Primary School and Sadtu's gender convener Risana Ngobeni said the purpose of the fun walk and aerobics was to get their members into a healthy lifestyle.

The Ivory Park Midrand South African Democratic Teachers Union (Sadtu) branch held a successful 10km fun walk and, later, an intense aerobics session.
The Annual Fun Walk Day was a fun-filled event held at Ponelopele Oracle Secondary School in Kaalfontein on October 14.

Pontsho Serepo, a teacher at Sedi-Laka Primary School emerged victorious followed by Kgabo Rammutla from Mayibuye Primary School. Third place went to Leseilane Mampuru from Ebomini Primary School.

Deputy principal at Noordwyk Primary School and Sadtu’s gender convener Risana Ngobeni said the purpose of the fun walk and aerobics was to get their members into a healthy lifestyle.

She said the fun walk also formed part of their annual health walk where they take time off from their busy schedules.
“This is where we engage in fun walks and aerobics annually as teachers. The aim is to encourage teachers and our members to live a healthy lifestyle. This does not mean once this annual run is done then the members can relax, we encourage them to join the gym or jog in their free time,” said Ngobeni.

After the run, members were taken through their paces by coach Mava Mkhize in another intense session.
