Johannesburg Sport and Recreation hosted youths to a successful holiday programme in Region A

Joburg Sport and Recreation host Region A children to a successful holiday programme.

The City of Johannesburg Sport and Recreation in Region A recently organised a highly successful three-day holiday programme for children, filled with tons of fun-filled activities.

The programme, held from March 26-28, aimed to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent negative behaviours among local children.

Over 70 teenagers participated in a range of activities, including aerobics, face painting, netball, a golf clinic, and swimming, among others, on the first day of the programme.

On the second day, children between seven and 18 years old participated in relay races, mugusha, kgati, street soccer, egg race, and other exciting games at Kanana Sports Ground.

The last day was equally thrilling, with children enjoying table tennis, a tug of war, boxing, fire safety awareness, and other fun activities at Maphutha Secondary School.

The three-day holiday programme was a massive success, providing children with a fun and active way to spend their school holidays while promoting healthy habits and preventing negative behaviours.

The assistant director for Crum (City of Johannesburg Citizen Relationship and Urban Management) Region A, Pierre Nel, emphasised the programme’s goal was to keep children engaged in activities that would help them grow both physically and mentally.
