President Park Residents Association invites locals to the AGM

President Park Residents Association chairperson Miguel Assis urges residents to come and see what plans are in place for their neighbourhoods future.

The President Park Residents Association (PPRA) invites residents to the AGM on April 6.

Association deputy chairperson Reshma Somaroo said it was important for residents to attend the AGM at President Park’s Bikers Church from 10:00 – 12:00.

“We encourage residents to please support the event and attend. The AGM is an opportunity for the community to engage with the association and provide input to guide its efforts on their behalf. We are a handful of people doing the best we can to serve our neighbourhood but need more active members. I am excited to share updates on our strategy for the next year, unveil some of the projects that we will be focusing on as well as provide an update on some of the local issues we have been dealing with,” said Somaroo.

During the meeting, a new committee executive will also be elected.

She said residents in Greater President Park and surrounding resident’s associations were also invited. These include suburbs such as President Park, Glen Austin Ext 3 and Austin View.

Information will also be shared about channels to follow when reporting community issues through the association, councillor, and responsible city department or entity.

She said PPRA needs more volunteers from the community to join the committee and sub-committees. “Residents play a crucial role and we also want to see them proposing solutions to some of our most pressing challenges.”

PPRA chairperson Miguel Assis said, “We are such a diverse community but ultimately we all want the same for our families. Come and see what we have accomplished over the past year and plan to contribute to your future neighborhood for your family.”
