Bilall Mohammed, of Trio Tactical, said, on November 21 at approximately 16:30, the operational team tracked the stolen TVs to the licensing department in Marlboro, Sandton.
“The operational team proceeded to the identified address and maintained surveillance on the suspects and the trucks while devising an operational plan to contain the suspects and the truck. Once all the suspects were identified, and the truck loaded with the televisions confirmed, the operational team executed the operational plan. The team executed a successful take-down and detained seven suspects. The trucks were searched and televisions worth R2.6m were recovered as per the Olifantsfontein case number,” said Mohammed
He said the cargo was then confirmed positive by the owner as per the serial numbers on their stock sheets.

He said subsequent arrests were imminent.
Units involved included provincial and Alexandra crime prevention, Bramley police, Trio Tactical, Savika Special Ops, Hawkeye High Risk Unit, Phetogo Protection, CPG Intervention Unit, ARN Taskforce and Nhlangwini Solutions.
