A joint intelligence-driven operation led to the arrest of three suspects who are believed to be involved in a spate of house robberies and house burglaries in Gauteng.
The suspects were arrested in Midrand on October 28, after they were found with suspected stolen property and housebreaking implements.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo said the Crime Intelligence Division received information that the suspects would be in Douglasdale on October 28. A team that consists of members of SAPS Counter Intelligence Investigations, SAPS Johannesburg K9, SAPS Gauteng Tactical Response Team, SAPS Tracking Team, Gauteng Traffic Police Airwing, CAP Specialised Operations, and Tracker Connect was placed strategically on the lookout for the suspects.
“The team spotted the vehicle that matched the description given, moving towards Kyalami in Midrand. The vehicle was stopped, but the driver accelerated, and a high-speed chase ensued,” said Masondo.

“The suspect’s vehicle came to a halt. Three suspects were apprehended. In their possession, the police found multiple laptops, electronic items, and break-in implements. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had just committed two house burglaries in Douglasdale.”
All three suspects were arrested, and the vehicle they were driving, a Suzuki Ertiga, was also seized as it was used during the commission of crimes.
“The suspects might be linked to various robberies and house burglaries committed around Gauteng.”
