“I have seen the rubble and I’m aware of it,” said Ngoepe. “I have called JRA and they are promising to remove it by end of this week [week ending July 11]. We have not experienced something like this in my ward, and we need to put a stop to it before it grows out of control.”

She urged all residents to refrain from dumbing their building rubble on the road reserves as that poses high risk to the motorists and cyclers. “I will also call the Johannesburg Metro Police Department to ask for more by-laws enforcement, so that we can put an end to this before it gets out of hand.”

Ngoepe urged people to use the correct Pikitup landfill disposal sites in Kyalami.
