WomenCan Gala set to shine spotlight on trailblazing women in Midrand

With the theme ‘Unlocking Your Inner Power’, WomenCan’s highly anticipated A Night of Mystery Gala and Awards promises an evening of glamour, empowerment, and recognition for women breaking barriers across South Africa.

WomenCan, an innovative women’s empowerment platform, is gearing up for its much-anticipated A Night of Mystery Gala and WomenCan Awards.

Set to take place on August 30 at the luxurious Mhulu Boutique Hotel in Midrand, this year’s event theme, ‘Unlocking Your Inner Power’, is designed to inspire women to boldly embrace their influence, use their voices, and lead with confidence in every space they occupy.

“Our unlocking your inner power theme is an invitation for women to boldly step into their power, embrace their influence, and unapologetically use their voices in the spaces they occupy,” said Mthembu.

Hosted by renowned personality Bokang Montjane Tshabalala and featuring panel discussions led by Poolometsi Holdings CEO Thato Mosikare, the evening will bring together dynamic voices from business, science, fashion, and the creative industries.

The keynote address will be delivered by award-winning Nonnie Kubeka, executive director of the Gauteng Convention and Events Bureau, who has dedicated her career to mentoring and transforming the industry.

Other powerhouse speakers will include Bonolo Mashilo, founder of BMashilo Designs; Tumi Lebaka, CEO of Gauteng Film Commission; Buhle Hanise, national head of Business Restructuring; Venetia Butler, renowned snap coach; and Nomso Kana, nuclear scientist.

The evening will culminate in the prestigious WomenCan Awards, which recognise and celebrate phenomenal women who are actively breaking barriers, inspiring change, and advocating for women’s empowerment at home, in business, and in their communities.

Previous awardees include industry leaders such as Marcia Mayaba, Professor Mamokghethi Phakeng, Sibu Mabena, Girl Code Organisation, and Portia Modise.

This year’s edition will be another unforgettable evening of glamour, empowerment, and purpose, uniting trailblazers, changemakers, and influential women under one roof.
