JBee Forest returns to the music scene with a hit titled JONI

Local music sensation and multi-talented artist, Jabulani ‘JBee Forest’ Hlathi, has made a comeback to the music scene with his latest record titled JONI (Joburg) that dropped on March 25th.
After last year’s massive hit, Vumbuluki, JBee is back with his new marabetha genre-inspired record, and he is not done yet. He’s got more music in the works, and he’s cooking up something special.
JBee’s latest song features Stanley Chilwane, also known as Slik Music, who is an expert in the Marabetha genre.
JBee explained that he needed someone who had been in the game for a long time and knew the genre inside out, and Chilwane was the perfect fit.

He said that the inspiration for the song came from the people around him, and he wanted to create something that talked about the hardships people faced in the city of gold.
The song depicts a guy who asks his mother if she sees the struggles he faces in Joburg since moving there to look for better opportunities. He then talks about losing weight due to the stress and how he’s now done with Joburg and is coming back home.
The 36-year-old jack-of-all-trades stated that he has seen many people leave Joburg to start a new life in the rural areas as they have realised that ‘there’s no gold in the city of gold’.
He hopes that this song motivates people to not feel bad about going back home to start over if things get too difficult in the city.
JBee is also working on visuals for his hit, Vumbuluki, and he expects JONI to do well as it resonates with many people.
He thanked his fans and supporters for their unwavering support and also mentioned his clothing brand, The Forest, has been doing well.
