Coding and robotics practical session for future educators hosted at The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall
Future educators are ready to code in the lecture rooms.
The integration of coding and robotics in lecture rooms is being taken to the next level by the future educators of our country.
Recently, third and fourth-year Bachelor of Education students from The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall, Sandton, Pretoria, and IIE MSA campuses attended a hands-on practical session hosted by iStore Education.

The aim of the session, led by the programme facilitator of iStore Education, Ntokozo Dube, was to equip the future educators with the necessary skills to integrate technology into their lecture rooms with ease.
The session involved coding challenges and creating robotic drawings and formed part of the Level 1: Becoming a Coding Teacher online Coding and Robotics course, which started on March 15.

The practical session allowed the attendees to unlock the vast world of coding and robotics in a fun and interactive way using various coding strategies.
The session emphasised the importance of teamwork in problem-solving, inspiring students to explore further opportunities to incorporate coding and robotics into their teaching practice.
Karabo Ramoshaba, a fourth-year Bachelor of Education in Intermediate Phase Teaching and VC Voice head of education at the Varsity College Waterfall, expressed excitement about the valuable learning experience that equipped the students with new skills and perspectives on technology integration in education.
“It also connected me with peers who share my enthusiasm for technology in education, and I am eager to collaborate with them in the future. Such a valuable learning experience has equipped me with new skills and perspectives on technology integration in education. I am enthusiastic about the possibilities that lie ahead and am committed to making a positive impact in the education sector through innovative teaching methods,” Ramoshaba concluded.
