Councillor Annette Deppe celebrates year-end achievements in Ward 132 as the year draws to a close

Celebrating, despite the hurdles faced, the year was marked by several key achievements that have significantly impacted the community and made things markedly better in ward 132.

Ward 132, like many communities in the region, faced significant challenges this year, particularly concerning service delivery and crime.

However, through strong collaboration and open communication, councillor Annette Deppe noted that they worked tirelessly to address these issues. The commitment from local officials and engaged residents was clear.

As the year comes to a close, Deppe celebrates several successful community projects. Significant achievements included the completion of the K73 Road and the installation of new street lights, both vital for enhancing neighborhood security and residents’ sense of safety.

“There were also new water pipe replacements installed to further enhance the community’s infrastructure,” said Deppe.

“The community spirit was palpable and vibrant, with numerous events being organised that brought residents together, thus fostering a greater sense of unity and co-operation among everyone involved.”

Looking ahead to 2025, Deppe is excited about continuing the progress made, and plans to implement new youth engagement programmes to empower the younger generation.

She also emphasises environmental sustainability and seeks to strengthen partnerships with local businesses, recognising that collaboration can drive economic growth essential for the area’s development.

“Together, we can make a difference, one step at a time,” she remarked. The councillor expressed gratitude to community members for their involvement in various initiatives throughout the year, along with appreciation for the support from the South African Police Service (SAPS) and Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) during challenging times.

She also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of local NGOs and volunteers, thanking them for their efforts to improve the community.

As she reflects on the year’s successes, she looks forward to the upcoming festivities and wishes everyone in the ward a joyful holiday season.
