2024 has been a path paved with success at Halfway House Primary School
Looking ahead to 2025, principal Benjamin Moyo expressed great optimism and ambition for the school’s future.
The year 2024 has been filled with remarkable events that showcase the success of Halfway House Primary School.
Each occasion fostered a sense of community and excitement, reinforcing the school’s reputation for educational excellence and learner engagement.
A highlight was the visit from Minister of Education Matome Chiloane, who observed the school’s innovative ICT lessons, broadcast live to a wider audience. He praised the quality of education at Halfway House, and the school community celebrated this recognition.
The school also hosted a vibrant fun day, bringing joy to learners, staff, and families. Learners are already looking forward to next year’s event to create more cherished memories.

Another notable event was the Mikaway Twinning Activities, a collaboration with sister school Mikateka Primary School. This initiative included engaging activities that showcased high educational standards, such as a maths marshmallow project, a spelling bee, a language celebration day, and a Grade 6 essay competition in which Khenso Zitha secured first place.

Halfway House excelled at the Creative Arts District Championship, winning two trophies in the Senior Phase category: one for Thato Mongalo’s outstanding poetry performance and another for Pearl Bakare’s impressive visual arts skills. Gogontle Landela also distinguished herself as the provincial winner in cross country.
The official launch of the swimming pool attracted many learners, marking a significant step in the school’s commitment to a well-rounded education that includes sports and physical well-being. Additionally, a dedicated teacher received the Excellence in Primary School Teaching Award at the National Teacher Awards.

Looking ahead to 2025, principal Benjamin Moyo expressed optimism and ambition for the school’s future, envisioning a year filled with exciting projects to enhance educational experiences.

Moyo extended heartfelt gratitude to the community, including businesses and parents, for their support. “Your generosity, well-wishes, donations, suggestions, advice, and kindness have been invaluable. We appreciate every contribution and ask for forgiveness from anyone we may have unintentionally hurt.”
