Said CEO’s holiday wishes to donors and the Midrand community

Meg Harvey, Said CEO, says 2024 would have not been possible for them had it not been for the generous donations and dedicated internal staff.

“To our wonderful Midrand community and donors, thank you for your continued support. May this festive season be filled with joy, kindness, and precious moments with your loved ones, including your pets.”

These were the words of Society for Animals in Distress (Said) CEO Meg Harvey, thanking those who played a role in animal welfare.

In her appreciation and gratitude response, Harvey said this year would not have been possible without the generosity and dedication of their supporters.

“Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who contributed, from those who donated animal feed and medical supplies, to those who offered their services at a reduced rate or volunteered with us. Every contribution, whether big or small, has been essential in allowing us to continue our work. Special thanks go to Sharry Banner, whose generosity has made a remarkable impact. We are also grateful to Chery South Africa and the Chery Foundation which promises to be a strong support base for all our efforts in the future,” said Harvey.

During the unveiling of the new Chery Tiggo 4 Cross and the establishment of the Chery Foundation, Said received a generous donation of R10 000 from Chery, matched by their financing partner, WesBank, for a total of R20 000 in support of animal welfare efforts in under-served communities.

Harvey said, internally, their team has been nothing short of extraordinary. She said with each member stepping up with resilience, selflessness, and steadfast commitment to their mission, they have ensured that every animal in need receives the care and compassion they deserve.

“Their dedication has not only been the backbone of our achievements but also the heart of Said. Their strength, courage, and loyalty remind us daily of what can be accomplished when we work together, united by a shared purpose. We close this year with deep gratitude for all we have accomplished together in support of our beloved animals and communities. As we look to 2025, our commitment to compassion, collaboration, and innovative animal care will only strengthen. Here’s to a year ahead that brings hope, health, and happiness to all!”
