A recent career fair, hosted on campus by The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall, served as an excellent platform for networking and building connections between students and top employers from various industries.

Esteemed companies, such as Danté Personnel Recruitment, Geeks4Learning, BK Publishing, SAPPI, AVT Johannesburg, FootGolfSA, Probono.org, Cyber Retaliator Solutions, Cartrack, Absa, and Signa, to name a few, were present, giving students a unique opportunity to explore potential career paths that could shape their futures.

Both undergraduate and postgraduate students were encouraged to engage actively to gain invaluable insights into the professional world. Highlights of the event included one-on-one networking sessions, where students could speak directly with recruiters, hiring managers, and alumni, forging connections that will undoubtedly aid them in their career journeys.

The resume reviews, and on-the-spot interviews, allowed many employers to provide immediate feedback on resumes, and conduct preliminary interviews, during the fair, giving students a real-time understanding of employer expectations.

Additionally, each student received comprehensive guides on post-event follow-ups, interview preparation checklists, and industry-specific career resources from Gcina Mgcina, a career services specialist at The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall.
