Community comes together in heartwarming Dog Jog to support animals in need
Society for Animals in Distress fundraising manager Keshvi Nair said the event was a reminder of how joyful giving back can be, especially for animals that suffer in silence.
The grounds of the Society for Animals in Distress (Said) were alive with laughter, wagging tails, and heartfelt purpose as families, animal lovers, and their loyal four-legged companions came together for the 2025 Dog Jog.
This beloved community event with a powerful mission to raise awareness and funds for animals in need of veterinary care, particularly in impoverished communities, was held at the Said farm in Vorna Valley on May 31.
Fundraising manager Keshvi Nair said far more than a fun run, the day became a vibrant celebration of community as children enjoyed face painting and jumping castles, music lifted spirits, and the Barn Shop bustled with visitors eager to support the cause.

Dogs walked proudly alongside their people, while smiles and stories were shared between strangers who were connected by a common cause – compassion.
“This event is a reminder of how joyful giving back can be. To see our community show up with such heart, to walk and run for animals they’ve never met, it’s deeply moving. Every pawprint on that track is a step toward hope and healing for animals that suffer in silence,” said Nair

She gave a special word of thanks to MediResponse, whose generous support ensured the safety and well-being of all attendees. A particularly touching moment was captured in a photograph featuring MediResponse staff, the Said team, and Titan, a once-abandoned dog now a hero who saves other dogs as a blood donor.
“Thanks to the kindness, generosity, and unity shown by our community, the lives of many animals will be changed for the better.”
