Future-proof your kids’ tech future with Crowthorne’s Logiscool
Logiscool Midrand director and co-owner Mamello Mnguni said coding develops cognitive skills and critical thinking among learners.
“In a rapidly evolving digital age, the importance of equipping children with the skills necessary to navigate and thrive cannot be overstated”.
These were the words of Mamello Mnguni, Logiscool Midrand director and co-owner based in Crowthorne.
She said among these essential skills, coding and robotics stood out as particularly vital.
Mnguni said many organisations have answered the call by offering coding and robotics as an extramural activity. One such organisation was founded in Hungary in 2014 and has rapidly spread across the globe with more than 360 campuses in 30 countries.

She said Logiscool was an internationally accredited extramural coding programme. “Coding is an essential skill for the youth regardless of which career paths they pursue because technology is incorporated into the majority of occupations,” added Mnguni.
She emphasised that coding also developed learners, referred to as ‘scoolers’, cognitive skills and critical thinking, which should lead to improved results in other school subjects, particularly in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (Stem).
Mnguni said the job market was increasingly dominated by technology as software development, engineering, data science, and artificial intelligence professions were in high demand.

Logiscool manager Kgomotso Motsoane added that, “Our vision for the youth extends beyond the privileged few that will enrol for Logiscool. We are determined to find a way for many disadvantaged children to advance their technological literacy. We are currently exploring partnerships with NGO’s to raise funds for Midrand residents who would otherwise not afford to attend the programme.
The World Economic Forum estimates that this year, 85% of job listings will require technological competency.
Logiscool prepares learners to pass the level 1 Python coding certificate, and Motsoane said this meant that children as young as 14 years old could enter the job market as qualified Python programmers.
