Miss Curvylivious SA finalist wants to make a difference
Pheladi Makopo aims to utilise her platform to positively impact the lives of disadvantaged youth in rural communities.
The 2025 Miss Curvylicious SA finalist Pheladi Makopo describes herself as a plus-size model who is passionate about showcasing the beauty of all body types.
She is originally from Khureng, a village in Zebediela in Limpopo, but currently stays in Soshanguve with her family and works in Halfway House, Midrand.
Makopo (37) is a married mother of three children and holds a human resources management and junior booking diploma. She also works as an MC at various events.

“I believe that confidence is the best accessory. My goal is to inspire others to embrace their bodies and feel good in their skin. I work in Halfway House, Midrand, as a creditors clerk. And what motivated me to join the pageant is my passion for growth and education, making change in the community, and advocating for the disadvantaged youth,” said Makopo.
She added when her friends suggested that she join the 2025 Miss Curvylicious SA pageant, she saw that it was not only about beauty but also about bringing change in the community.
Makopo said her desire as a plus-size model was to motivate others and bring change in rural areas, which were overlooked when it comes to getting resources.

“I am hoping to get a platform that can help me bring change to the lives of disadvantaged youth in rural communities. To bring hope to those who lost hope because I believe I can be a mother to the motherless and a voice to the voiceless.”
She reminded every plus-size girl or woman out there that, as fully-figured women, they must try their best to achieve the unachievable.
