Face of Rabie Ridge gives youth chance to grow in modelling industry
Young adults in the community of Rabie Ridge get a chance to experience the modelling industry, with 22 contestants competing against each other to be crowned Face of Rabie Ridge.
The Face of Rabie Ridge pageant is a platform for young men and women where one’s confidence can be built and ignite positive change within themselves and the community.
‘To incubate and to build a community that empowers all walks of life, from a child, teenager, young adult and adults as a leader or a role model in the eyes of the nation.’
That is the vision and mission of the pageant that was established in 2022 by Sanele Khuzwayo. She has created a platform where youngsters can have a sense of belonging.

The 25-year-old who herself is a model, hopes the pageant teaches its contestants that modelling is not all about outer beauty but more of what is inside of them as individuals.
She said it had given young people an opportunity to build themselves and to stay away from substance abuse such as drugs and alcohol, and teenage pregnancy.
“As a model, I wanted to share my skills with the next generation and the youth in my community. I want to be a role model to young people,” she said.

The pageant empowers its contestants to help those in their community who are struggling to make ends meet.
One of their contestants Tshepang Ledwaba (16), recently collaborated with Give a Girl a Pad and donated 20 pads each to Sivana AOG Church and Siyazigabisa Home of Hope.
“I want to see myself growing boldly in pageantry and being a title holder and seeing the Face of Rabie Ridge blossom for many years and with me being a great outcome for this beautiful initiative,” said Ledwaba.
