Over 100 women celebrate Women’s Day at Olive and Plates in Waterfall
Councillor Annette Deppe’s annual tradition brought together local women for a day of celebration, creativity, and a call to stronger leadership.
Ward 132’s annual Women’s Day celebration, hosted by councillor Annette Deppe, dazzled over 100 attendees at Olive and Plates in Waterfall.
The event blended glamour, inspiration, and a powerful message of women uplifting women. This celebration has become a treasured tradition of empowerment, connection, and joy.

Once again, Deppe brought together the women of the community for this highly anticipated event, which had been rescheduled to August 22. The event was well worth the wait, drawing a lively crowd for a day filled with style and solidarity.

It featured a theme of Masks and Hats, encouraging attendees to express their individuality. Conversations flowed, laughter filled the air, and creativity shone brightly, with Rani Naidoo winning the Best Dressed prize.
Beyond the festive atmosphere, the day also conveyed a strong message of empowerment. Yianna Grekas from The Purple Element delivered a heartfelt keynote address.

Deppe emphasised the importance of female leadership, urging women to step into roles that can transform their communities. She encouraged attendees to actively engage in the Ward’s Business Forum and the Over 60s Club.
“We aim to empower these ladies to build confidence, foster connections with like-minded individuals, and support one another in their personal and professional growth,” said Deppe.
She also expressed gratitude to the sponsors who added an extra touch to the event, providing thoughtful gifts, goodie bags, and prizes that delighted the attendees.
